I have tried a lot of brands over the years and unless it was from a brick it goes right  from the bag to the pot, no prep work other than PH water. Right now my favorite Coco Coir mix is Mother Earth because its cheap. As for the end product I dont notice any difference in the bud. I do water 3-5 times a day depending on what stage the plants are at
