we just soak in hot water and dish soap for a while and then scrub with a dish scrub. Seems to work well if they soak for a while.

When I made oil this last time I poured some really hot coconut oil in my empty jars and swooshed it around a few times and it cleaned most of the kief stuck to the sides of the jars out. I used a silicon spatula to get everything out of them afterwards and just added it all to my already infusing oil. Then to the dishwasher they went. It did a great job and I feel like I was able to save some of the trics that was stuck in the jars to add to what I had already going in the oil.

I just made some RSO last night with Everclear and kief. The Everclear cut it off the jars like a laser!! That is the way to go if you want to clean your jars, pipes. bongs, dab rigs, or anything else really. I even cleaned the finger hash off of my trimm...  more

I rarely clean my jars, but when i do i clean a lot of them at one time. I pour enough alcohol in one jar to fill it 1/4 the way full. Next i shake the alcohol up and swirl it around in the jar. I pour the alcohol into the next jar and continue until all the jars have been cleaned. I leave the washed jars standing up and open for a few hours, then if there is any alcohol still left inside the jar i pour it out and turn the jar upside down until it is dry. Then sometimes i will wash the jars with dawn dish detergent. Most of the time the alcohol does a good enough job and the dawn is not needed.  Peace

Great idea! I may try cleaning a few jars this evening with Everclear. I am planning on making a tincture (RSO) using kief when I get home from work. Would be a great time to try it out!

@ $60.00 a gallon Everclear is not the way I would go. Pharmaceutical alchohol is like $35.00 a gallon. I don't clean mine. Unless there was some moldy weed in it!

I bought a 5th of Everclear locally for 17 bucks. That is a 5th of a gallon. That comes out to more like 85 bucks a gallon unless you save money by buying the gallon (bulk). I might use that pharmaceutical grade alcohol for cleaning but I wouldn't use it ...  more

Man, I don't see a need to clean them in most cases but if you put a spoonful of dishwashing detergent in there with scalding hot water and shake the shit out of it...you might need gloves because of the heat...rinse with warm water. There won't be anything but glass left.

I agree! I hardly ever clean my jars. I only did it since the topic was on here and I had things going on to try cleaning them with. No way I would clean them and not use those trics stuck to the jars in something though!

I prefer EverClear. Swish out the chromes and add to next RSO run using Source Turbo gizmos.
