Calcium deficiency or nute splash? Solved

by George03 about May 22 - report

I have a couple of my plants they look like Calcium deficient or nute splash not sure which. Check out the pics below. They are under bright light so take that into account. It's only on the lower growth and no yellowing on new growth. This is a coco grow feeding everyday. GH trio with CalMag. I also pre-charged the coco with a solution of CalMag of 7.5ml twice before using. I'm thinking nute splash but I need to be sure.

If it is only a couple of lower leaves and the new growth looks good I wouldn't worry about it. I would say nutrient splash is more realistic. If the new growth is fine that is all you need to worry about. Good luck and happy growing my friend!

I have been putting feed in the smaller bag as well. It’s only on a couple of leaves on two plants. Thanks Screwstick.

The second and third pics the plants to me look a little light green which would be a deficiency.

They are not light green it’s the bright light that’s on them.

If the new growth is fine i would not worry too much about it. But you can do what i did with my last grow when i had this issue. I gave them a good dose of epsom salt to not only get rid of the issue but stop it from happening again. Epsom salt works great in coco, and it will not hurt a thing if you really don't need it.  Peace

You can mix it with a little warm water so that it dissolves and then just add it to more cooler water or just top dress your pot with a couple teaspoons of it and then when you feed it will dissolve down into the rootzone/medium. I personally top dress r...  more

All good advice above. I am wondering how close is your light? Could it maybe be raised a little or maybe the intensity turned down? The leaves look like they might be getting too much light. Good luck!

What are your temps.  The leaves look like they are taco'ing a little bit.  Also Screw asked what the PH is, but I didn't see an answer to that?

If you will go to www.growweedeasy.com they have a chart that tells you at what Ph ranges the different nutrients are taken up by the plant the best. I like to fluctuate my Ph from 6.3 to 6.7 every other watering/feeding myself. That way the plant can get...  more

Make sure you look at the drain to waist chart (soil) and not the hydro chart.

You should work on getting your temps down while flowering also. You want to replicate fall weather outside. :-)
