HEADSHOPS!!!

Just commented an answer that brought back deep memories...headshops!...we have dispensaries that carry weed, edibles, tinctures, topicals, dabs.....yadda yadda yadda...don't get me wrong, these things out in the open and for sale is fucking awsome! But they don't sell the thing that I revere most...the awesome soul of Cannabis Culture...posters, records, paraphernalia, books and magazines, your very first concert tickets...remember buying Cheech & Chong's Big Bambu and rolling a joint in that paper that came with it? Up in Smoke style? Scoring some Orange Sunshine from someone you met there?( guess I shouldn't have said that one! hee hee). You get the jist...and if you don't...I feel sorry for you...you missed out on something very special !!!

I also loved the old head shops! Now every tobacco store on every corner carries paraphernalia. I still have an unopened Cheech and Chong album with the big paper put back. We burnt many of them back when they first came out though.

One of my old friends Joe Utterbach (rip) opened Penny Lane back in the 70's. Guess where the money came from to start the business... You guessed it ! His brother Harvy, now runs the store. It has seen many changes over the years . Federal raids several times, confiscation of "whatever you smoke weed with," and it's still going, stronger than ever ! Tommy Chong even stopped buy once and spent over $300 at half price on Joe. Cali had outlawed all weed smokin stuff then. I got stories brothers ! Need to keep my mouth shut !!! Happy growin

They were listed as 1 of the oldest still around in Hightimes last year.

I remember a headshop disquised as a candle shop back in the 60's and 70s. Lot's of the smaller towns had ordinances against them in my area. You can find a lot of stuff on ebay, I actually bought a brand new Zippy roller on there a couple years ago. Almost had to resort to duct tape on the old one, lol!
