Pump/stones

by Jinx about February 13 - report

Just curious as to what you guys are using. Im currently using a top fin 4000 pump with 2 8" cylinder stones in one dwc res. The reason im asking is because i have an old school style hydro system (with the drip ring) right beside my other setup and its killing it. The old setup is doing good where the other gets to about 5 weeks of flowering and the plant just STOPS growing.

that may seem to be whats happening but i doubt it. i have several pumps going when im growing. got nothing going ATM but i always keep two stones per bucket in DWC. It may seem like youre hitting a wall but maybe youre getting a bit impatient? lets see some pics! how long past 5 weeks have you gone?  check your reservoir and make sure you have plenty of bubbles going. it may be covered with a mass of roots.

heres what i have: two seperate dual feed Active Aqua pumps AAPA7.8L (i use these for single buckets)

and two separate 60L/min with a 6 way manifold (I use oth of these for a tent full)

the pumps are nothing special but if your roots are suffocating the oxygen i can see how that may be a problem

maybe you can disconnect your lines from the pump, untangle them from the roots and put them down into your reservoir such that the new growth gets fresh oxygenated nutrients.

As soon as the light comes back on I will try re-routing the lines and stones. What you're saying makes sense

one thing... just a thought. make sure your timer is legit and no minor light leaks exist. theres not much else

When I'm running DWC, I use the Vivosun 650gph with the 6 output manifold.

I also run a 5 " air stone in each bucket with goog results.

What nutes are you running in the DWC?  Ph??

Do you check your ph? Big Bud and Nirvana aren't ph perfect.
      Trying to cover everything.
If it was root oxygen levels, the plant wouldn't make it to week 5 of flower.
That leads me to think nutes. First thing I think of with nutes is ph causing lockout.

wouldnt you see it in the leaf if it were a pH problem?

i dont want to start a holy war here. I respect RbtAsq and think hes one of the top growers here. (along with many others) experience wise. i dont have near the experience but ive been using AN in DWC for several grows. i know that by itself Big Bud isnt pH perfect but it IS compatible with other AN nutes including the sensi bloom line. that being said lets work toward figuring out your problem. or your perceived problem

What's the room temp? If by "old style", we mean pump in the bucket, up to the drip ring, the pump may be keeping THAT reservoir warm enough for normal growth. While the DWC, without the pump in the res, has cold water in it?

And Booze, to me, it would be disrespectful for you to know my info isn't right, and NOT correcting me. If I'm wrong I wanna know, so next time I won't be.
My ego aint THAT big, close, but not quite! lol
