One of those moments of heavy cussing. I advise you get some zip ties for your repair kit...really are handy. If you get it put back together tight it will come back.  Tough luck...hope it makes it.

I didnt have a complete seperation like that but did have a main snap and crack in two where i topped from high winds outdoors. I taped it up and it rebounded in a few days.

I've had them just hanging by a thread and I put a stick along the stem and taped it up. They have all healed well.

It may be better to make two fresh diagonal cuts than tape the smooth clean cuts together that’s how trees are grafted

Where ever you top it your lower nodes will have faster growth because your lateral growth is stunted.

Time will tell. I've completely snapped stalks before, shoved them together with a splint and taped them and had them recover completely. Sometimes they don't recover. I'm sorry this happened..

Next time if you are into messing with it you can soak sphagnum moss in rooting hormone, wrap it around the break, splint it with a stick taped on each side, wrap it in a bit of plastic. The upper stalk will sprout roots in several days.(If its a photoperiod...  more

Put the branches back as best you can. I don't think i have seen anyone with as much bad luck as you have. Did the wind blow the gnats away? Peace

I've heard of people putting root hormones on a break and swore by it. I've never tried this but who knows? It does promote growing? Anywho just throwing it out there.
