So... Should I flip em to flower? Solved
Hi! Here're the details: growin in a 4x4 area under a 315w cmh light, 4 raspberry cough (sativa strain), about two months of veg I would say. Growin in inert peat/perlite/vermiculite mix (feeding with hydro nutes). Been usin the LST method(for the first time), trying to maintain an even canopy. You can see on the pics the result so far. So my question is, lookin at those pics, would you say I should flip em now or wait a bit? Note that I don't want the plants to cover a wider area than what they're covering(because 315w bulb won't really cover the 4x4 area.). So what would a more experienced grower would do in my situation?SubterraneanHomesickBooze 0 points -
When you go to flip to 12/12 count on them doubling in height! so take that into account as a deciding factor of when to flip. They look fairly managable now. The training looks good!
for the purpose of light penetration I would defoliate a bit first, personally! if you choose to do this you will need a good 7-10 days before filp to recouperate.
Have a cool day
You're right... Too much of those leaves blocking lower grow tips, but there'ra so many of em. But, yeah, I'm gonna throw my self in removing some of em. Thanks for the advise.

Looks good happydog I wouldn't know since I grow out doors space isn't a problem.with indoors most people stress out the space and lights.you may want to add an light or 2 during flower stage.i think you ready for the flip.but that's just my opinion.plenty of more experience and indoor growers that will pitch in soon.good luck and a great job so far....Thanks Dizzajay! I agree that adding light or switching to a stronger light that is more suitable for flower(like hps) would be the best thing to do but than I would need stronger blower to bow off the excess of heat...

Beautiful! Perfect size tent for 4 raspberry cough!!!Flip em brother!justme 3.163 points -
I would finish filling my tent up horizontally but that is your decision. If you do it probably won't take but another week and it will just add to the size of your plant and more final product you have in the end. The bigger the plant, the bigger the yeild. Looks like you kept her nice and low. Your training looks great my friend! Happy flowering!!
Lots of people do it differently. If you flip now, I wouldn’t do any defoliation until after the preflower stretch. I can show you 3 shorter plant that I defoliated at different time and the one that I waited until it was through the preflower stretch bef... more
Thanks for the advice justme! I decided to prune leaves that were hidding new growth tips under em and I think I did right as these growth tips started to grow way faster in only one day after defoliation(cmh is awesome for veg stage, I get very short int... more
I would definitely wait until your stretch is completely over before removing anything after flip. I have 3 plants that I defoliated a week apart right after I flipped and then 1 that I waited until the preflower stretch was over. The one I waited on is a... more
Btw, you did a great job keeping your plant low! I would just keep working my LST on out towards the ends of the limbs until you flip. You will have no problem with the stretch. You will probably have to think about ways to hold them heavy colas up soon t... more

I say flip them. You have a good long veg and feel that your at the point of it getting to big for your light? They will at least double in height and get a little more robust. 2 months is good enough to assure you have a well established root system which is fixing to get after it. They all look great and healthy so I would do it now. Peace, Roscoemarlboro 5.036 points -
Having grown raspberry cough I would flip. They really put it on when they go into flower.Idagrow 204 points -
Looks like you did an excellent job training! Hats off! I am also in the camp of some judicial defoilation...5-10% at most...lower stuff that your light doesn't penetrate, and anything that blocks your bud sights that you can't tuck away...you've got LOTS of promising bud sights! Keep in mind plants(especially heavily topped) grow out as well as up. So...I say do some defoilation, wait a week...then flip. Very promising grow!! Keep in touch w/update

would "flip" NOW !!!! as mentioned your plants will double if not triple in size and could/can get uncontrollable in relation to height - wjhat the min distance for you light ? (at least 12 inches or more ?) this has to be fiqured in on when to flip - Your grow space need to handle them but we all are guilty of this once and a while or has expericend this at least once.
Nice Plants !! -- your yields should be very good !!!!

I would flip now, the RC's I have grown almost tripled in height and doubled in width. The growth in width was becasue they were mainlines. How tall is your tent?
I would also count on 14 weeks from the flip before they are ready to harvest too.
