1 month update LSD-25 auto

by Heisenbergproj about February 10 - report

Wow what a difference a week makes. Plants growth has exploded. Most have tripled in size from last sunday. Average height is around 11" inches. Some are pushing 15". Looks like i have two phenos i can spot so far. Most are bushy and growing wider than they are tall and others are reaching for the sky. Will be nice to see how they fill out in the next couple weeks. No training so far only leaf tucking to encourage side shoots to grow up and form a semi level canopy. Added a ph controller along with an automatic doser to help stabilize my ph. Plants have stopped showing signs of ph issues with new growth. I removed most of the leaves that had turned brown from that issue. All in all im impressed so far, really hoping these girl produce some of that purple sticky icky.I removed my one mutant plant and am on the fence of pulling another runt. I accidentally ripped the roots off of it when it was younger. It has bounced back and is growing but im afraid when these autoflower its just going to be taking up valuable real estate. Side note if your building an rdwc like me you really need to plan for roots to be intertwined. Most buckets have roots from their neighbors and its become impossible for me to move plants without getting caught on another plants roots. I need to add some sort of filter in each bucket to help prevent this as i can see this possibly clogging my plumbing in the near future. Only time will tell.More pics here https://growdiaries.com/diaries/23768-lsd-25-first-auto-grow/week/110391

So jealous man! wow you got some fancy gear! Theyre lookin wonderful! Since you can dial it in, do you vary the pH range any?

    Best of luck!

Wow! Nice plants and a pretty set up you got there. I remember ordering LSD years ago. I assume this is a cross of that...I know it was strong even though, at that time, I'm sure I could have grown it better. Good job!

You have a nice set up, but you will find out that it is best to only have one plant per container, especially with DWC. It makes things so much easier, and you don't end up ripping the roots off of some of your plants, lol. You are doing really good with this grow, and you should be proud of what you have accomplished imo. I found out a while back that it is best to grow less numbers of plants and make up for the plants you did not grow with plant training, such as a mainline, etc. I look forward to your next update, and try not to rip more roots off of your plants my friend, lol. Peace

Thanks Harley. This is my first auto and 2nd grow so i was a little nervous with topping them. I mainlined my first grow and filled a 4x8 tent so i definitely agree with least is more. I kinda figured the autos would stay relatively small so in this case ...  more

You have a great "space" and buy the look of it you are going to really have some huge plants - keep'en coming - Thanks for sharing   As mentioned 1 plant to container is the "golden" rule

i dont know RDWC but as far as roots clogging the reservoirs, maybe you can use some kinda baffle. i say that to prevent clogging a screen or filter. OOOOH! or put the roots into a large 12" net pot to contain them in the seperate reservoir!

                                                  BAM! problem solved!

Thanks! somewhere in there lies the solution. maybe cut the net pot in half and put either side in the tote? idk

Yeah...SHB is on to the right train of thought!...when you first showed your set up, you talked of roots creeping over...you can't really do a filter, it will just clog it up...I thought maybe a double walled reservoir...inside big enough to contain your roots comfortably...small enough drainage to second " outer" reservoir...and maybe higher output drainage to lower input to next unit...complicated...But REALLY great thought process!!! Keep up innovating!!!

Thinking about it...do you go low to low ...output to input between units?...that seems most logical...and why you get root creep...hmmmm...thinking to do

Heck...the more I think about this...the more I complicate it!!! EXACTLY what shouldn't be done! Ha ha...I guess I am just trying to deal with root creep, but I remember you had some issues with nutes on plants at end of line...I keep coming back in my he...  more

Yes they are all interconnected low to low. Basically just three long lines with them interconnected at the ends. I actually have my feed lines coming thru what i had planned to be my returns lines(3/4) and my return water is flowing back through my 1-1/2...  more

Do you know for sure your roots are clogging your lines?I have never really heard of this issue before. Screens will get clogged faster!I run a rdwc system and I am not noticing any issues. Have you looked at store bought systems? They may have solved this issue. The plants look great!!Keep up the great job!

They arent clogging them up yet but they are creeping into the totes next to them. Some of the roots are so long if they wanted to they could drift a few totes over. Just planning ahead for murphys law. I will take a look at a store bought system and see ...  more

My systems discharge pipes per bucket are individual pipes that all flow to 1 main pipe back to the reservoir.
Are your buckets tied together? 1 pipe goes to another bucket
