THE "SUGAR" LEAVES
Hi all, I was cleaning a mostly Sativa strain today, and my fingers were gettin EXTRA sticky. I'm pretty careful in the way I handle the buds when trimming. So I took my loop to look at the trichs of a cleaned bud, and a not so cleaned bud (just the bigger fan leaves removed) ! "I COULD NOT BELIEVE WHAT I JUST SAW !"... RIP Jack Buck ! What I saw was the not so cleaned bud, had a HEAVY, DENSE, and BEAUTIFUL coating of bulbous glanular trichs, on it's sugar leaves ! The cleaned bud looked good too, but my point being, the smaller sugar leaves had WAY more BGT's than the buds themselves !!! Is it me, or do most growers clean their sugar leaves off the buds ? Oh yeah, I do use my trim for edibles, so it's not going to waste. Peace

Thats what I love about the bowl trimmer, I dont loose any of that and sometimes what you cut off has the highest trichome count and its always the most mature. There are a lot of trim trays out there that catch that stuff too, dont let your hard work fall on the floor and get swept away

i trim my sugar leaves down to the bud. i also use my trimmings and smaller nugs for gummies and tinctures.

@ Sub, It looks like it Sub ! Good one ! No boys, my point isn't saving sugar leaves, it's trimmiing them off the plant to begin with. Have we gone to far with our trimming techniques ? I think we might have. I've always wanted to sell buds untrimmed, but people can't handle it !
