Jacks 321 First Try Hydro

I finished the test run in coco coir a few weeks ago and the Mandarin Cookies grown in RDWC are hanging. Bottom line is I like Jacks, its actually soluble, you can watch it dissolve except the Epsom Salt which needs a little more effort and warm water. Did you know Epsom salt has sulfur in it and helps the terp production? I didn’t. I also liked if its mixed per the instructions the PPM’s come out with in about 1% of their predictions. I don’t think they advertise PH perfect but once I set the coco res I never had to change it.

I did have 2 minor problems with Jacks 321, 1) It needs cal/mag, Epsom Salt alone is not enough for hydro.  2) I needed to add Silica for the RDWC Grow to strengthen the limbs.

It surprised me that the feed charts go back to the veg mix (A, 5-12-26) & (B,15-0-0) after the stretch (Bloom Booster, 10-30-20) but it seemed to work and they didn’t stretch through the roof. Then 2 weeks before flush they go to a Finish blend (7-15-30) and that seemed to work, but not fast enough I guess because I added MOAB and burned the leaf tips. Operator Error

Next grow I am using their Ultra Violet mix (5-50-18) instead of the Bloom Booster (10-30-20) and eventually get back to a combo of the FF soluble trio and Jacks 321.

First lesson learned is the stuff in the tubs is not the same as the stuff in the bags even if it has the same name and NPK, I told them that is BS.

Second Lesson is it’s approximately a 3-2-1 ratio of part A, Part B and Epsom Salt. So why not bag it and sell it in those ratios? A 25lb bag of part A is probably going to run out when there is about 1/3 still left in the Part B bag. That better be a warm rain on my back but I don’t think it is. I guess all the OEM’s do that.    

I will post some bud porn later the Garlic Breath came out great, hard little nuggets that will knock you out, and Mandarin Cookies is TBD, I am dry trimming it so we shall see.
