HEAT WAVE!!!!!

Morning! We are having a heat wave here after few weeks of rain one of which we had six inches. Drowned my tomatoes 😢. My question is besides water ( mine is outside grow) that I can’t really visit daily. What do my ladies need besides water? They look like they are loving the sun so far but since I’m down to three I need to take really good care of them. Suggestions? EVERYTHING/ANYTHING APPRECIATED

      • One thing is you can lay some mulch around them. Idk if you're in the ground or in containers but mulch help retain moisture.

        • Mulch is good. Water in the AM. If you can get a hose to the girls, shower the leaves in the afternoon if it gets over 95 ! The bigger the droplets the better.  Avoid a fine mist ! Containers are really hard to cool down !! Especially when the pots are black.

          • Thanks Chubby!  Two of mine are in the ground and one in pot. One in pot I’m trying to water early in the morning and in evening. Already found out what happens when it doesn’t get a drink. Thought I lost it the other day. Went out all wilted and droopy, moved her in the shade, threw some water on her and almost cried! I just knew my stupid ass had killed her by forgetting her for couple days. Went back couple hours later to check chickens and she was beautiful again!
