Comment to '3 degrees isn't going to make a difference. What temps/ rh are y...'
  • Thanks for responding so quickly.

I have about 5 years experience now so I'm not a beginner but not an expert either.

In winter I don't have a problem.  Temperatures are 60-80 F, relative humidity 30-60%. I use LEDs inside a 3 by 8 space with a sloping roof. I understand plants like temperatures a few degrees hotter when using LEDs. Is that correct?

The problem is my temperatures in summer go from 84 to near 100. Air conditioning is obviously a great solution but is to complex and expensive for me at this point. The relative humidity is 60-70%. I have 2 air circulators and 2 rotating fan so the breeze is nice.

The night time temperatures are in the 80s and the highs would occur after the lights are on for many hours so the plants get a break at night. The Temps ramp up sometimes near 100 but not everyday over several hours and ramp down at night to the 80s.

If I use more wattage the heat goes up fast and go over 100 on occasion. I am on the lower side at 50 actual watts per sq ft led. I would use 100 if I didn't have a heat issue. So that's why I want to know about tradeoffs.

I use burple leds and have one board and I will eventually replace the burple with the boards. I love the new board.

My board is an hlg 65 v2 4000k for veg and love it. I will get hlg 100 respec for flower to replace generic old burples (2017 or so). Are the board temperatures that much better. Don't want to throw out the burples and spend more $ if I don't save a substantial amount of heat.

The board seems to cover more area with less wattage so that should help. Did I mention I love the itg 65 v2 4000k I have? Is there a better choice? I  doubt it.

The boards still generate heat but are they much better than burples in terms of heat, I don't think so do you.

My next experiment will be to grow Amnesia haze as that plant is more heat tolerant. That plant should thrive in my environment? No?

    Thanks again for your support.
