That should be perfect for a 2 X 3 foot print. I had one in a 2 X 4 tent and it didnt cover the area, I even bought a light mover to try and cover with no luck. Now I have it over a 2 X 3 ebb & flow and it does a great job. Get the Photone app and you can set these LED's spot on the right height, just dont think you can push more into the plants.
I hear nothing but good things about SF lights I want one as well, will definitely help with heat and help you be even more stealthier with your grow......Johnny Law can pic up on HPS lights through AM frequencies. Congrats Vince
There are ways around that Hulk...forgot what they are called, but it's basically a magnet that wraps around the cord of an HPS or HID...when I was using hps I had them on my cords...the usb cord that I hook my cam to my pc has one on it...(from the factory)
I have 4 sf 1000 3 of them are the most resent upgraded model and 1 of them is the old one. The new ones have a evener ppfd spread. Man I can tell the two apart by my quantum light meter. Hot spots on the older model. I like mine and I took the controller of the tops and I am running them outside the tent. It is very simple to do. videos will help you out on youtube if you need them. With an exhaust fan You can better control your temps I like the dimmer control because I can adjust and I use mine from start to finish. No need to buy other lights for the seedlings. It took me a couple of grows to figure them out. I like mine. Enjoy
yeah i m planning to use it from start to finish as well, just this round first weeks of veg have been under HPS so i ll see next grow how she perform with young seedling.

I'm also curious The Old Man, what's your tent size with a 400W hps ?
