A quick question people ,

I want to know more about using beneficial microbes . I have dabbled in hydroponics with pretty good success but I keep hearing that coco coir is also a form of hydroponics .... So...is Hydroguard ( bacillus ) beneficial in coco coir and Perlite ? I use it in my hydro buckets for years and have seen very little root rot. I also use Growers Recharge . Am I wasting my time ? and money ?

    • I quit using an inoculant in my coco grows, with no significant change in the coco grows. Hope this helps.

      • I use it in my ebb & flow res and in my auto feed res and they both feed plants in coco. Honestly I dont know if it helps at all but it doesnt hurt anything except  my wallet.

        • What I do think helps coco grows is Recharge, it has all the good stuff your roots need. I generally do a root drench once a week with it or if you hand feed you can just use it as sort of a top coat.

        • Bacteria can handle a lot of salt content so there pretty good in hydro type grows an I would consider them beneficial, but mycorrhiza fungi typically tend to go dormant when phosphate levels rise above 50ppm, so they are not to helpful for hydro.
