At what stage is the vegetative state considered to begin? Some strains have read that they need a certain amount of time in vegetation before beginning the flower flip.

      • once as Joshua mentioned, that the true leafs have started its up to you as to how long ya wanna veg em.  .longer in veg the taller/bigger they will get...i keep mine less time in veg to keep em way i like..unless im doin a scrog or mainlines.....some strains they say will "do this or taste like that" if ya keep em in veg longer, but its up to the grower really..   just dont chop em to soon at harvest time...GL

        • Thats interesting, I never noticed any difference in taste as far as the time in veg goes. I have read that the older plants get the more potent they get. I dont think its quite true though or we would all have 20 year old mother plants.

        • I usually give veg a start date after the 2nd set of true leaves show because some plants seem to stall after the first set of true leaves pop out but by the time the 2nd set pops out they are rolling. Bottom line is like ChAs420 said, from here  to the end,  how big are they when you flip is what matters, my friend
