Purchased Fox Farms Ocean Forest. I faintly remember reading something about this. Is this Fox Farms Ocean Forest “too hot” to start beans? Recommendations??

Comments
    • ive hear just as many people say that is is too hot, as have said it works fine for seedlings. if you look on the bag, it says it is fine for seeds. I will say one thing about Ocean Forest and it is jacked up with nutrients!. Fox Farms makes a specific soil called Lite Warrior made just for starting seeds in. frankly, i like to use a plug or rockwool cube and get some roots established before anything happens

      • ive used the lite warrior to it works but it seems like they grow a little faster in the happy frog to me. i haven't tried seeds in ocean forest with comments I've see where someone said it burnt them so i figured better safe than sorry. let us know how it turns out if you do start them in it.gl

        • I start in Happy frog and then transplant to Ocean Forest or Coco Coir, unless its a water grow. I dont know if Ocean Forest is too hot or not, its one of those rare times I simply took everyone's word for it and didnt try it.

          • been using it  ocean blend + happy frog and never had an issue (manufactor states all you need is water for the 1st month)  have use nutrients from week2-3 of veg till harvest  -- it's not hot !!  a great soil
